Dual Extract Mushrooms: Lion’s Mane, Chaga, Reishi, Cordyceps & Turkey Tail

Hey everyone! If you’ve ever tried mushroom products and wondered why some feel more complete than others, it usually comes down to one thing: how they’re extracted. Our Certified Organic Dual Extract Mushrooms pull out all of the most potent constituents. If you’re sensitive, you’ll feel the energetic explosion in your brain – I know I do!

1. Why Dual Extraction Matters

Most mushroom extracts use either hot water or alcohol. But mushrooms contain water-soluble compounds – beta-glucans, proteins and peptides – and alcohol-soluble compounds – phenolics like quercetin and baicalein, terpenoids, triterpenes and sterols. Practically every mushroom product on the market uses one method or the other, so it misses half.

In a dual extract, the mushroom is extracted with one method, then the remaining material is extracted again with the other. The two liquids are combined and concentrated into a powder, which takes it to another level. Because it costs more, dual extracts are very rare – the mushroom superfood blends and mushroom coffees on the market don’t use them. → See Boosting Immunity.

2. Lion’s Mane: The Brain Mushroom

Lion’s Mane is used for cognition, focus, mood and mental clarity – say goodbye to brain fog. Its water-soluble beta-glucans aid immune and gut balance, while its alcohol-soluble hericenones and erinacines uniquely stimulate nerve growth factor (NGF), supporting focus, memory and cognitive repair. It was our most popular, and to me it’s the most energetically intense – a “tubular” wild ride. → See Brain Health.

3. Chaga: King of Medicinal Mushrooms

Chaga is my favorite medicinal mushroom, a very powerful antioxidant used for skin, immunity, digestion, anti-aging and whole-body wellness. Its water-soluble polysaccharides provide antioxidant and immune nourishment, while its alcohol-soluble triterpenoids and sterols are responsible for its skin, cellular and anti-inflammatory benefits. Both are needed for Chaga to live up to its name. It tastes delightful to me.

4. Reishi: Mushroom of Immortality

Reishi has a long history of use for vitality, longevity, immune support and good relaxation and sleep. Its calming, immune-supportive effects come from both water-soluble beta-glucans, which prime immune function, and alcohol-soluble triterpenes, which support liver health, cardiovascular balance and stress resilience. Our dual extract includes compounds from both the fruiting body and the spores. → See Stress and Sleep.

5. Cordyceps: The Energy Mushroom

Cordyceps militaris is the ultimate mushroom for energy and endurance, used by athletes and weekend warriors. Water-soluble adenosine and polysaccharides help with oxygen use and stamina, while alcohol-soluble cordycepin and sterols are linked to performance, vitality and lung health. When I took it, it felt like it was programming my immune system in a very beneficial way. → See Energy & Focus.

6. Turkey Tail: PSK and PSP

A customer requested Turkey Tail, so I researched it and had to get it. It’s one of the most researched medicinal mushrooms because of two rare protein-bound polysaccharides, PSK and PSP, which activate immune cells like macrophages, T-cells and natural killer cells. PSK (Krestin) has been an approved supportive treatment in Japan since 1977.

  • A study identified over 35 phenolic compounds in Turkey Tail that reduce inflammation by inhibiting COX and LOX enzymes.
  • Its beta-glucans bind immune-cell receptors and may improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar.
  • Its terpenoids and sterols are anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial and support liver health. In one study, Turkey Tail plus reishi extract taken orally for two months led to a high rate of viral clearance.

PSK and PSP are water-soluble, while its phenols and sterols are alcohol-soluble, so most Turkey Tail products capture only one side. Ours captures both.

7. 100% Fruiting Body, Nothing Added

We use only 100% whole fruiting body, with absolutely no other ingredients – just Reishi, Chaga, Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps or Turkey Tail. They come in 4 oz Miron violet glass jars; I couldn’t use anything less for these potent medicinal mushrooms. A variety pack includes all five.

How to Take Them

I like to take them straight from the spoon, but most people add them to coffee, tea, smoothies or food.
