It’s one of those rare products that I would classify as a Longevity food. It promotes beauty, anti-aging, and beautiful skin in a rare and amazing way as you will see shortly. It’s really magical how it works, and I am going to share with you all of these benefits, backed by numerous clinical studies. It’s so unique in the pathways that it uses in order to boost the immune system, that it works very effectively at combatting and shortening the length of time for outbreaks of incurable viruses out there today, such as Chicken Pox, HIV, the Herpes Virus, and more. Brown Seaweed Extract is extremely powerful and absorbable. Before we get into all of these clinical studies, I’ve got to explain to you how the Brown Seaweed Extract is processed.

The leaves are hand-harvested and dried by the sun. It is then soaked in cold spring water for about 4 hours. A very small volume of spring water is used, since seaweed releases its water-soluble polysaccharides in fresh water, and we want to retain them. The outer part is skinned off and put into a grinder to turn the outer layers of the skin into a paste. This paste is mixed back with the inner part of the Laminaria that was left after the skin was removed.

This mass, along with the remaining water in which it was initially soaked is pressed through a tight mesh net similar to cheesecloth. What comes out after the pressing is a heavy gel that is kept for further processing. The sand-like substance that is left in the net is disposed of. In this manner, all heavy indigestible cellulose fibers are removed naturally.

The batch of squeezed gel is then placed into a cold-temperature chamber dehumidifier, where it is quick-dried with cool air. As it is dried, the gel turns into a big chunk, like a rock. That chunk is broken into smaller chips, placed in a large grinder and turned into powder, which we call Brown Seaweed Extract.

When I got my sample and tasted it, it was so good. With regular seaweed, I have a very difficult time digesting it due to the rough fiber. When I chew down on the Brown Seaweed extract, it’s like a soft gel-like seaweed that just melts in your mouth. I was literally just eating it straight, but I really love sprinkling it on my meals. It tastes so good and I get so many benefits. My daughter loves seaweed, and I told her that this BSE was super healthy. She just lit up when she started eating it, because she loved the taste. Give me more she says lol. Do you know how good it feels, knowing that she is getting this extremely beneficial superfood in her diet?

Anyway, the Brown Seaweed Extract is referred to as an extract, but basically it is the dried, concentrated juice of brown seaweed. It is a simple and absolutely natural product, a true food substance that is not formulated. The major difference between Brown Seaweed Extract and all other seaweed products on the market is its bio-availability. Even the most recognized kelp and algae nutritional supplements are generally dry ground seaweed in variations, or chemically broken cell types. Even in its original form seaweed is difficult to digest.

I tested this and I mixed the Brown Seaweed Extract with water and it developed into a light suspended gel. The neutral buoyancy of water soluble fiber is the best indication that the physical extraction and low-temperature vacuum evaporation processing removes the seaweed’s outer fiber and extracts only the inner, water soluble, part of the Laminaria leaf. This enhances minerals, vitamins and polysaccharides for easier digestion. You can also tell the difference when you chew down on this versus just eating seaweed straight. When I take a nice sized dosage of this BSE, I get a sense of well-being, and I feel good energy vibrating in my head.

This unique nutritional product is comprised of all the important organic elements found in seaweed. It is literally Kelp on steroids. I know that many people are going to ask me how I would compare this to Quintessential for minerals. Dr. Norman Walker did consume ocean water to make sure he got all of the minerals, but he also said that he ate seaweed every single day also on his salads for this purpose. Quintessential is always my go to for minerals, but both these products contain all of the minerals available. Why is the BSE such a miraculous beneficial creation and finding?

The Japanese are amongst the longest-lived people in the world, and scientists believe one of the main reasons is due to their consumption of seaweed. I believe that this has a lot to do with all of the minerals that they get from the seaweed. However, scientists mainly attribute it to the high concentrations of the long chain molecules collectively known as Fucoidans, which are within the particular species of seaweed that the Japanese consume.

Now get this, our Brown Seaweed extract has more Fucoidans that are more bioavailable and absorbable compared to any seaweed or food out there, due to the way it is processed as you will shortly see.

This Fucoidan anti-aging potential emerged in several analyses of the Japanese diet, particularly among inhabitants of the island of Okinawa, long known for its high concentration of people at least a century old (centenarians). Fucoidans are found almost exclusively in certain kinds of seaweed in Japan, and scientists say that virtually no one in the West obtains enough of these critical molecules. These Fucoidan molecules play a crucial role across a broad range of physiological processes.

In terms of our skin and beauty, as seen in the clinical study here, Fucoidans are critical in modulating growth factors required for healing and tissue regeneration of the skin. In this clinical study it states that the structural and anionic characteristics of fucoidan are similar to those of the medication heparin. Heparin stimulates production of hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), which has key roles in tissue regeneration.

Not only do Fucoidan’s modulate growth factors required for healing and tissue regeneration of the skin, but at the same time it blocks factors associated with visible aging of the skin as seen at the clinical study here. The study states that Fucoidan treatment increased type I procollagen mRNA and protein expression, and Fucoidan inhibits Ultraviolet B induced MMP-1 expression at the protein and mRNA levels in human skin fibroblasts. The study concluded that Fucoidan may be a potential therapeutic agent to prevent and treat skin photoaging, which is the sun prematurely aging the skin.

So to translate this into layman terms, the Fucoidans in our BSE has the potential to block damage from Ultraviolet Radiation from the sun, increase Procollagen, which is a major precursor to collagen, and these Fucoidans are critical in modulating the growth factors for healing and tissue regeneration of the skin. I can see why the Japanese kept young!

Scientists say that this is largely the result of how their unique immune modulating capabilities, where they simultaneously down-regulate inflammation as seen in the study here, while at the same time boosting appropriate recognition and destruction of invaders, as seen at the clinical study here. So Fucoidans stimulate unique beneficial immune responses while suppressing those that could lead to tissue damage.

In fact, in this last study above, it states that Fucoidans can inhibit the replication of herpes simplex virus and other viruses, and they are able to block HIV replication in cell culture at specific concentrations. This brings us to its anti-viral capabilities.

In early stage, experimental cell studies, Fucoidans demonstrated potential for preventing infection with numerous malicious microorganisms, including the malaria parasite and herpes viruses. In the laboratory studies here and here, they block cell surface receptors those invaders need in order to attach themselves and enter human cells, preventing infection such as Herpes from taking hold. Viruses in particular can attach to a cell membrane receptor and then enter the cell interior, where their genetic material replicates and produces destructive effects on host cells.

At the study here, Fucoidan extract has been shown to inhibit replication of herpes by stimulating ingestion of the virus by macrophage cells and boosting numbers of antibody-producing B cells. At the study here, Fucoidans suppressed the attachment of Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts, which is a water-borne opportunistic infection that affects patients with HIV/AIDS. All of these experiments show great promise for future applications of Fucoidans in protecting against various pathogens.

Here is the big doozy on Herpes, Chicken Pox, Shingles, etc in a human study. At the study here, oral Undaria Fucoidan was administered to 15 individuals of various ages (from under age 10 to age 72) suffering from herpetic infections including herpes type 1 (cold sores), herpes type 2 (genital herpes), herpes zoster (chicken pox; shingles), and Epstein-Barr virus (mononucleosis). The Undaria Fucoidan dosage approximated typical daily seaweed intake in Japan. Undaria Fucoidan increased the healing rates of active herpes virus infections in all 15 subjects. Individuals with chicken pox and shingles noted reduced pain and more rapid resolution of skin lesions. In the laboratory, scientists found that the Undaria Fucoidan extract increased the growth of infection-fighting T-cells in cell culture. The scientists postulated that Undaria Fucoidan’s ability to increase T-cell growth in the laboratory may be related to its ability to enhance immunity in human subjects.

At the studies here and here, the same fucoidan preparation revealed potent antiviral activities against human herpes virus types 1 and 2, and against cytomegalovirus, a common infection in individuals with compromised immune systems. Lastly, at the animal studies here and here, it reveals that Fucoidans prevent virus binding with host cells and inhibit viral replication, while simultaneously stimulating host-defensive immune responses.

Not only does immune stimulation by Fucoidans enhance activity of both the cellular and the antibody-based components boosting protection against bacteria and viruses, but also against many nascent (newly coming into existence) cancers as seen in all the studies here, here, here, and here.

In the animal models here and here, Fucoidans enhanced survival and inhibited tumor growth in experimentally induced cancer, the result of enhanced activity of cancer-destroying natural killer cells.

Before we continue on with more studies about how our BSE has the potential to really help Diabetes and Arthritis, I got a copy of the Certificate of Analysis (COA) of the product. 11% of the product is literally Fucoidans. Do you realize how much Fucoidans that is? For example, an orange is known for its Vitamin C content. In 100 grams of Fucoidan, 11 grams or 11% of it are Fucoidans. In 100 grams of an orange, you get only .06 grams or under 2/3 of 1% of Vitamin C. The amount of Fucoidans in our BSE is mind-blowing and goes way beyond any seaweed food or seaweed product out there. It’s literally like taking a therapeutic dose of Seaweed, which digests in an instant.

Also on the COA it shows that 50% of the product is made up of Alginates. Alginates are a natural absorbent of radioactive elements, heavy metals, and free radicals. It has the unique ability of binding heavy metals and radioactive elements to its own molecules. Since Alginate cannot be broken down by bile or saliva and be absorbed by the body, it is secreted from the body together with the heavy metals and radioactive substances. In addition to that, if you are or were a smoker, it will help detox you from the strontium and cadmium. I am definitely adding the BSE as a new recommendation to detox heavy metals and radioactive elements when someone asks. No wonder why the Japanese live so long!

And it tastes really good! If you like seaweed. It is such a pleasure to eat on my meals and I get excited to eat it every single time. Plus I love the energy buzz it gives me.

I know this is a long one, let’s dive back into how it is extremely beneficial for Diabetes, then Cardiovascular Disease, and lastly Arthritis, and we will then conclude this masterpiece lol.

Incidence of metabolic syndrome, which is associated with the development of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, is on the rise around the world, though its prevalence lags behind in some Asian countries that consume a traditional diet rich in seaweed. As seen in the clinical study here, this phenomenon has recently been attributed in part to the high dietary intake of Undaria, which is loaded with Fucoidans, and other brown seaweeds.

As seen in the clinical studies here, here, here, and here, Metabolic syndrome, which is triggered by, and also a cause of accumulated Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs), is associated with type 2 diabetes and high cardiovascular disease risk.

In the study here, Fucoidans can inhibit binding of AGEs to the cellular receptors that trigger many of their damaging effects, and at the clinical study here, Fucoidans hold tremendous promise in disrupting the processes that lead to metabolic syndrome and its cardiovascular consequences. In fact, women in that clinical study lost a good 3-4 centimeters off their waistline.

Now this is pretty big and probably why, at the clinical study here, Undaria, which is loaded with Fucoidans exerts anti-diabetic effects by stabilizing and slowing the digestion of white bread starch from processed carbohydrates, which may reduce the likelihood of dangerous postprandial glucose and insulin spikes.

People are always coming to me for help with Peripheral Neuropathy, which is generally caused by Diabetes. This is when you start to go numb in your toes, and then it gets worse as time passes. You then start to go numb in your feet, and then your legs, etc. I have never had a recommendation for Peripheral Neuropathy until now. At the clinical study here, Diabetic patients also suffer from diminished peripheral blood flow, leading to skin ulceration and poor wound healing. In one compelling study, researchers discovered that Fucoidan supplementation could restore normal control of capillary blood flow in diabetic animals.

At the clinical study here, Fucoidans also defuses cardiac risk factors by stimulating enzymes that break down fats in the liver and lower triglyceride levels. As you can see at the study here, Undaria operates synergistically with fish oils to protect cardiovascular health. Cardiovascular disease risk is directly related to blood pressure. In a landmark 2009 study here, consumption of dried Undaria at 4-6 grams per day (typical for the Japanese diet) significantly reduced systolic blood pressure in all patients. Individuals who consumed 4 grams of Undaria daily for 1 month, followed by 6 grams of Undaria for an additional month, saw their systolic blood pressure decrease by 10.5 mmHg. This effect occurred primarily in those who had high-normal baseline blood pressure levels.

Keep in mind that you need 40 pounds of seaweed just to make 1 pound of our Brown Seaweed Extract. You would just need a tiny small fraction of a gram to take the typical dosage (4-6 grams of Seaweed typical for the Japanese diet). The recommended dosage on our BSE is 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon. 1/4 teaspoon goes way beyond that 4-6 grams of seaweed used in all of these clinical studies. This 2oz bag is so dense and concentrated, that it may last you a very long time.

Lastly, let’s discuss how our Brown Seaweed extract has the potential to help with Arthritis, including Rheumatoid Arthritis. There are many different kinds of arthritis, with a variety of causes. Their unifying characteristic is painful joint swelling with inflammation and increased production of pro-inflammatory cytokines (cell-signaling molecules).

At the human clinical study here, the Fucoidans from Brown Seaweed when taken orally over twelve weeks decreased the symptoms of osteoarthritis in a dose-dependent manner. In addition to that clinical study, along with the studies here, and here, Fucoidan treatment reduces cytokine production and infiltration of white blood cells in experimental arthritis, thereby reducing overall severity. The Fuoidans also reduce pain perception in Osteoarthritis as seen at the clinical study here. At the study here, selectin inhibition by fucoidans also reduces the severity of early bacterially induced arthritis.

A 2020 research review at the link here, highlighted positive outcomes in the use of kelp containing it in mice with Rheumatoid Arthritis. It reduced destruction of cartilage and bone and the infiltration of inflammatory cells in tissue. At the 2017 study here, fucoidan reduced inflammation and improved the quality of life in people with advanced cancer. Twenty participants received 400 milliliters of the substance each day for 4 weeks. After this period, the participants had lower inflammation scores.

Another 2017 study at the link here, found that fucoidans can reduce oxidative stress, swelling, and inflammation from arthritis. Lastly, a 2022 study at the link here, found that Fucoidans had a positive effect on synovial fibrosis. This leads to joint pain and stiffness in many health conditions. The study concluded that its evidence and previous studies supported the use of Fucoidan for conditions that affect the joints.

Together all of these properties make Fucoidans tremendously promising in the management of painful arthritis. I think it’s really helping me get through this transition off of Prednisone with it’s potential ability to help with Arthritis and Inflammation.

I think you can now see why I made the rare classification of making Brown Seaweed Extract (BSE) a Longevity Superfood, and you can probably now see why I am so happy that my daughter is eating this stuff. Since I have a Jpouch, digesting seaweed was very difficult and uncomfortable for me. I thought consuming seaweed was a thing of the past for me. I have no problem eating our Brown Seaweed Extract due to it being like the juice of kelp, and I absolutely love the taste when I put it on my food.
