Olivico’s Olive Oil is Back + More Olives

Hey Everyone,

Olivico’s Organic Gourmet Extra Virgin Olive Oil is back! And with this fresh import, we also brought in more of their amazing Peruvian products, including their Dehydrated Olives in the Bag, Olive Pastes, Green Sevillano Olives in Brine, and their incredible Organic Salt Natural Fermented Mixed Olives in glass jars.

I specifically waited for this latest import because I wanted to bring you the latest and freshest batch of Olivico Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil right when it became available. As soon as the new batch was ready, I had this import shipped immediately so we could get the oil to you as fresh as possible. Getting this Olive Oil as fresh as possible was the entire reason I waited for this import.

I had one customer who was practically begging me to bring this Olive Oil back to The Raw Food World. She loved it so much that she even asked if I could get it in larger bottles!

This is a true gourmet olive oil. If you’re used to the more mild and bland organic Extra Virgin Olive Oils you typically find on Amazon or in the supermarket, this one is going to take your taste buds on a wild roller-coaster ride!

It’s incredibly fresh, green, grassy and flavorful, with a wonderful peppery finish that lingers on the palate. This is not an olive oil that simply sits quietly in the background — you taste it.

But here’s where this incredible flavor gets really interesting. That strong, peppery sensation isn’t just what makes this Olive Oil taste so gourmet — it’s also characteristic of the naturally occurring polyphenols found in high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

And polyphenols are one of the reasons I look for truly exceptional Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the first place. These naturally occurring plant compounds have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and research [1 g ] comparing high-polyphenol olive oils with lower-polyphenol oils has found improvements in markers of oxidative stress, oxidized LDL, cholesterol and other cardiovascular risk factors.

In other words, you’re not just looking for an olive oil that tastes good. You’re looking for an olive oil that delivers a substantial amount of these naturally occurring beneficial compounds with every serving. And the higher the polyphenol content, the more remarkable the oil becomes from a nutritional standpoint.

That bold, peppery flavor will give your salads, fresh vegetables, avocado, pasta, roasted vegetables and even a simple piece of crusty bread a deep, rich, vibrant taste that you simply don’t get from a mild, ordinary olive oil. It can transform even the simplest foods into something incredibly flavorful and satisfying.

And this incredible Olive Oil has received some serious recognition. Olivico has been awarded the prestigious BIOL Prize for the world’s best organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil!

The BIOL competition is dedicated specifically to organic Extra Virgin Olive Oils, making this award particularly meaningful. It isn’t simply a general olive oil competition with an organic category added on. The competition evaluates organic EVOOs from around the world using laboratory analysis as well as an international panel of expert tasters. In 2025, more than 500 Extra Virgin Olive Oils from around the world were entered into the competition. To receive the BIOL Prize among hundreds of oils from around the world is a prettyincredible distinction, and it puts Olivico among the finest organic Extra Virgin Olive Oils in the world.

But what I really love about Olivico is that this isn’t just some company bottling anonymous olive oil.

Olivico’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes from their own farm in Pucusana, Peru, where they have more than 4,000 olive trees. Their olives are carefully hand-picked when they reach what they consider the right point of maturity, and the oil is produced from their own olives.

So when you open a bottle of Olivico, you’re not just getting another bottle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from a supermarket shelf. You’re getting an organic, award-winning olive oil with a specific farm, a specific origin and a real story behind it.

And the quality testing backs this up. This latest batch tested at just 0.53% acidity with a peroxide index below 16 — both important indicators of the oil’s quality and freshness. Lower acidity and a low peroxide value are characteristics we look for in a high-quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil, helping distinguish a fresh, well-produced oil from one that has experienced greater oxidation or deterioration.

I know it can be difficult to find a truly high-quality Olive Oil that you can actually trust. Well… this is it!

The only other U.S.

First, we have all three of our usual Botija Dehydrated Pitted Olives in the bag — Aji, Herbed, and Sea Salt. Olivico slowly dehydrates these olives at just 104°F, concentrating their incredible flavor and giving them a wonderfully rich, salty and savory taste with that delicious oily texture.

Unfortunately, their Purple Botija Olives in brine were unavailable for this import, so we couldn’t get those this time around. But we did manage to get their Green Sevillano Olives in Brine, beautifully packed in glass jars.

Next, we have Olivico’s Black Olive Paste and Green Olive Paste. Their Black Olive Paste is made from their Black Botija Olives in Brine, and both pastes are carefully processed to preserve their rich, complex olive flavor. They’re blended with delicious herbs including oregano, rosemary and thyme, creating a savory, flavorful paste that’s incredibly versatile.

Spread them on crackers or bread, use them as an appetizer, add them to vegetables, or use them as a flavorful base for healthy pizza, pasta or sauces. There are so many ways to enjoy these!

And last but not least, we have Olivico’s Sea Salt Natural Fermented Mixed Olives!

These are unlike any of the other olives we’re carrying. They’re naturally fermented using only sea salt, without being fermented in a traditional brine. As the olives come into contact with the sea salt, they naturally release some of their own water, which is why you’ll notice that the liquid in the jar only comes about halfway up rather than completely covering the olives like the other varieties in brine. The olives also have a slightly more naturally shriveled appearance.

But here’s the really amazing part: the liquid you see in the jar isn’t ordinary brine. It’s the natural, mineral-rich spring water released from the olives themselves as they come into contact with the sea salt. These olives are grown using the farm’s own underground spring water in the Andes Mountains, which naturally filters through the layers of the earth before reaching their wells. So that incredible Andean spring water actually becomes part of what’s inside your jar!

You’re literally getting olives grown with their own mineral-rich Andean spring water, naturally fermented with sea salt, and the water released from that process right there in the jar. How crazy is that?! This Spring Water out in the Peruvian Andes Mountains is untouched, pure, and super mineral rich. And remember, the jar doesn’t fill all the way to the top with liquid. That’s completely normal — it’s the way these olives are made, not a leak that happened during shipping!

So there you have it — an incredible collection of Olivico’s organic, farm-produced Peruvian olives, olive pastes, and what I believe is one of the most exciting Extra Virgin Olive Oils we’ve ever carried.

Thanks everyone for your support!

Sincerely,
Matt
