Papaya Seed Powder: A Gentle, Food-Based Parasite Cleanse

Hey everyone! Our Papaya Seed Powder is a simple, food-based way to help support the body’s natural balance when it comes to unwanted intestinal guests. It’s just one ingredient – pure organic papaya seeds. No blends, no fillers. If you’ve ever eaten a papaya seed, you know there’s something medicinal in those bad boys. They have such a profound, energetic taste.

1. A Traditional Remedy

Cultures around the world turn to papaya seeds when something feels “off” in the belly. They simply open up a papaya and eat the seeds – a time-tested approach passed down through generations. → See Parasites.

2. The Clinical Studies

  • Kenya: in a school-based study of 326 children over 8 weeks, porridge fortified with 10 g of papaya seed powder led to a 63.9% reduction in roundworm (Ascaris) egg counts, along with improvements in weight gain, arm circumference (a key malnutrition marker) and skin fungal infections. Beyond lowering parasites, papaya seeds may help children better absorb and use their food.
  • Nigeria: children given air-dried papaya seeds had stool clearance rates between 71.4% and 100% for the parasites found, compared with 0–15.4% on placebo, with no harmful effects. The researchers concluded dried papaya seeds were effective, affordable and safe for intestinal parasites. They used dried papaya seeds – just like our powder and capsules.
  • Lab and animal studies show papaya seed extract inhibiting egg hatching and larval motility, and dried seeds were well tolerated in animals.

Importantly, the nutritional improvements in the Kenyan children may not be explained by parasite reduction alone. Papaya seeds also provide naturally occurring fatty acids, plant compounds and antimicrobial activity that may support gut integrity and reduce fungal burden. So while papaya seeds are gently helping reduce parasitic stress, they may also be contributing to the body’s ability to rebuild – nutritionally and immunologically.

3. How the Compounds Work

Preclinical studies suggest papaya seeds’ compounds work together. Papain helps break down the protective coating of worms and their eggs and may inhibit hatching. Carpaine, an alkaloid, may disrupt parasites’ neuromuscular activity – essentially paralyzing them – so the body can clear them. Benzyl isothiocyanate (BITC), tannins, oleic acid and polyphenols impair parasite movement, damage their outer structure and interfere with their energy, while the host’s antioxidant defenses improve.

4. More Benefits

Papaya seeds contain flavonoids and phenolic acids with antioxidant effects that support the liver and kidneys, fatty acids that support healthy circulation, and papain, which enhances digestion. Their antifungal activity also helps clear fungi from the digestive tract. → See Gut Health and Gut & Yeast Balance.

The Protocol

Take it first thing in the morning on an empty stomach – that’s when it’s most effective. Take 2–6 capsules, or ½ to 1½ teaspoons of powder (2 capsules equal about ½ teaspoon). Mix the powder with a little water or honey if that’s easier. Continue daily for 8 weeks, the timeframe in which studies showed meaningful results. To take it to the next level, you can do a short fast after taking it, which helps clean out the digestive tract – but that’s optional; the morning protocol works great on its own.
